Definitions and Concepts

Defense contracting is full of precise language and acronyms that one is expected to know. Because it can be a challenge to find good information from the DoD, Mil-Pac offers this information to help. For many of these terms we will go beyond the definition to explain some related concepts.

This information is not meant as a substitute for understanding of your contracts and the relevant defense standards and regulations. Seek assistance from DCMA, DLA and other contracting officials if you are unclear of your contractual responsibilities. Our DOD Resources page has some contact information.
